This dataset contains information on the elevation contours and the depth to bottom, of South Colwell Pond.
Purpose:
This dataset was developed for the purpose of displaying bathymetric contours,
calculating volume of water measurements, and for data sampling purposes.

The data was created in and is stored in Arc/Info 8.0 software for
Windows NT operating system. Arc/Info stores this data in a directory under the coverage name, scolwellbath, and also in an associated INFO database directory. The coverage export format is approximately 535 KB in size. Data may also be made available as an ArcView shapefile upon request using ArcView 3.2.

Process_Description:
The coverage was created by digitizing depth contours. Contours were hand drawn from point data on depth collected in the field during summer of 2001. Depth measurements were taken with a GPS and depth finder. Depths were collected in 1 foot intervals. All depth data was adjusted from depth-to-surface to elevation-from- the IGLD 1985 datum by correcting the values to Lake Ontario lake level on the date collected.

associated with the polygon and polyline features. Elevation , which represents
elevation from 0 of the contour line/polygon; and depth, which represents
depth-to-lake-bottom from lake surface at the time of data collection (~245ft, or 74.67meters). Attribute values for depth and elevation are in
FEET.
